At age 21, I spent 18 months in Austria as a missionary for the Mormon church.
The country itself is tiny (equivalent in area to the state of Maine), but its size belies its vast amount of history, culture and gorgeous views – from tiny villages marked by single church steeples nested in mountain meadows to Vienna’s spectacular cathedrals and castles. And best of all, Austrians have hearts of gold and make lifelong, loyal friends.
In short: Don’t let Austria’s size fool you into thinking it’s not worth visiting! It’s simply incredible. Drop me a line if you’re considering traveling to Austria – I’ll give you my best insider tips.
