When I first saw Caitlyn Connolly’s painting titled, “she became herself with tears,” I cried. And bought the painting. (Context: I’m generally not an impulse shopper, my husband’s opinion notwithstanding.) The painting spoke directly to my heart; I’ve since discovered that most of Caitlyn Connolly’s work has a similar impact on me.
We downsized a few years ago and I had the chance (first ever – after 23 years of marriage – woot!) to furnish and decorate our bedroom from the ground up. My color scheme and decor were all chosen based on that painting.
It’s a beautiful, poignant daily reminder that “Sometimes the things we can’t change end up changing us.”
